Untitled (Blue)

Untitled (Blue) is a dual exploration of materiality and monochrome. This installation investigates the convergence of textiles and painting, trying to unpack the ways in which material and texture can inform line, touch and space in a painterly context. Abstract in nature, this work is inspired by dreamscapes, figmented moments of memory and dillusion that feel representational yet can never truly perform representationally. Concerning palette, blue is a colour that holds many meanings; on the one hand, it may be serene and welcoming, while on the other hand, it speaks to darkness, gloom, sadness. And so, as with most abstract works, Untitled (Blue) does not impose any particular narrative. Rather, it invites you to weave in your own understanding based on individual experience.
