Describing the thing
Pulling from dreams and memories, Ali Kouri’s sound is an ethereal combination of art-rock and shoegaze that blurs the line between abstraction and reality.

Her works build from experimentation and collaboration, with a focus on distortion and alteration of sound and an instrument’s primary function, co-composition and the physicality of sound.

From 2013-2022, she was the lead singer/songwriter/guitarist for Montreal’s female-fronted, dream-folk-rock band The Day Dreamers. Kouri has performed at Osheaga, Ottawa Bluesfest, Mondo (NYC), Canadian Music Week, Festival du Cirque and Starlight Foundation’s Strangers in the Night, and has been interviewed and reviewed on CBC, CJAD, CJLO, CKUT, Global News (all Canadian), Maastricht Student Radio (NL), York Calling (UK), Punchland (NYC), Outlet Mag (AU) and more.
